How do you like those pear varieties and what zone are you in?
I recommend them highly...a few minutes per year pruning and mulching is all there is to it.
If you plant a 4-5ft whip sapling, expect first real harvest after 3 years - 30-40 pears per tree, maybe 20# of fruit per tree, after 5 years 50# per tree...8 hours direct sun is best but they will still produce with 5 minimum
Very low maintenance for fruit trees...might need some fungicide if you have cedars nearby for fireblight (about the only thing they are susceptible to)
