There will never be an economy bad enough that an RV salesman says “You should probably wait 6 months to to buy an RV”. It’s important to know the incentives of people giving you advice.
If a salesperson genuinely tells a buyer "honestly, I don't think this is the right fit for you right now," they do something no pitch can: they become completely trustworthy. The buyer's guard drops entirely, and paradoxically, they're often more likely to buy or to come back later, refer others, and become a loyal long-term customer. The willingness to walk away from a sale is what separates someone who closes deals from someone who builds a business.
