Nostr and bitcoin share the same power and the same weakness. Robust and Free at the protocol layer, where information, capital, distribution and authority are almost totally incorruptible.
But at the social layer individuals pay a high cost to learn and while custoding their own keys. In Nostr you lose your identity, in bitcoin your capital. That thread is real as the feeling of fear and vulnerability. Physical attacks are common today... That's a high cost.
The solution is we build the social layer protocol for both. Peer to peer distribution of keys first, and then funds, we have all the tools at hand to build that, we use bitcoin's natural way of doing things: hashing, timelocks... A p2p market for custoding services emerges and now there's an economic incentive to promote self custody... What do you think?
