Insane discussion going on Twitter regarding the preservation of videogames, and it all comes down to the fact that the Japanese tend to equate legal with good and illegal with bad, while in the west we see things with far more nuance.

I understand cultural differences are a thing, but I simply cannot understand the Japanese side. Refusing to preserve art because the law tells you to feels absolutely dystopian.

I understand law has a purpose, but let's not pretend it can't be unfair or wrong.
