Bitboard was intended as onboarding wallet / tool for Bitcoin and Lightning. I started developing it in March this year. It's still very far away from being any kind of competition to established wallets like Phoenix.
At the moment, Bitboard does not support manual coin control, yet, as the app just sticks with the initial coin selection done by BDK. It merely displays the selected UTXOs now.
Also, Bitboard currently can only connect to external Lightning wallets via NWC. A genuine app-internal Lightning node is something I plan on finishing until Q4 this year.
The most distinctive feature of Bitboard is the integrated blockchain simulation / sandbox. It's main purpose is to help people grok the mechanics of Bitcoin by playing around with it.
