Israeli backed Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella announced sweeping changes to his country's foreign policy, including scrapping plans to establish a Palestinian embassy in Colombia, a move that had been planned by former President Gustavo Petro.

At the same time, he announced the reopening of Colombia's diplomatic mission in occupied Jerusalem and the restoration of full diplomatic relations with Israel.
