I’m just staring at this single sentence and wondering how so many individuals agreed this was a good idea. I wonder if anyone wrote a book on how they managed to get so many individuals to sign off on this self-own of an amendment.

I understand congressmen voting on legislation thats long, bloated, and confusing (without reading it) because lobbyists sold it to them, but this is so obviously a bad idea I just don’t understand how it was ratified by the states.
