Core made a decision that they knew was wildly unpopular. It fractured the community. I am not a BIP 110 or Knots guy either. Bitcoin will be fine. However, a selfish and myopic decision was made that has had undeniably negative consequences. They will never admit it, but I bet they wish they could do it over again.
