According to Reuters, citing sources familiar with the discussions, NATO officials are considering scaling back or potentially canceling annual summits beginning in 2027, partly to avoid public friction with U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

While the next summit is still scheduled for July in Ankara, Turkey, the report says some officials are advocating for fewer large-scale gatherings going forward.
