Maybe that's true in your region. There are bakeries in my state that don't add preservatives. Some use organic wheat too. However, those loaves are very expensive.
Finding a bakery that uses flour that isn't "enriched" is the tricky part. This is why so many suggest making your own.
If you do find bread without preservatives in your area, keeping it in the fridge will help it last longer.
