Maybe doesn't fix everything and edge cases of threat vectors are always there on ownership and custody, but it does increase energy cost. There's little energy cost to Ctrl P to buy weapons to slaughter and invade to steal gold. Seen the argument on covenants to reduce honey pot wrench attacks by locking btc for time periods. This seems to me to have a negative second order effect of reducing btc used in circulation as money.
Time will tell but the core element IMO is growing knowledge that a system based on extraction creates perverse incentives against cooperation. Humans always invent tools, all have varying impacts and levels of manipulation. It's certainly still the best looking option to grow on in order to minimise societally detrimental incentive structures.
