Zapstore is an open permissionless app store. That does not mean *anything goes* on our relay. Spam, scams and malware are not welcome regardless of end users' web-of-trust checks. From Zapstore 1.0...

I think the ideal platform would be what you described above, but with "trusted" and/or "audited" sections in the store.

I'd love to be able to browse for, and try out, random apps without having to do a bunch of research on the projects and their repos first. (like any iPhone normie can do with AppStore)

People don't want to DYOR (including me). That's why everyone just uses whatever "everyone else" is using.

With iPhone / AppStore, there's confidence that nothing in there is buggy, insecure, or malicious (for the most part).

People trade trust and confidence for privacy, but we need both.
