If you have not been doing so, save your eggshells from this year. Just throw them in a jar or something as a container and give em a crush to save on space. When it comes time to plant and that crucial frost window has gone, powder the egg shells in a food processor, coffee grinder, or heck a mortar and pestle. Place about 1/2 tablespoon to 1 tablespoon in the hole and mix in with the soil. Use this on any plant that BER (Blossom End Rot) occurs, Tomatoes, Peppers, Zucchini, etc.. This will keep BER from happening via a very slow calcium release. Bonus, it's free!! - Side note, if you are concerned about potential pathogens (you shouldn't be but hey..) You can throw the egg shells on a pan place in the oven and heat to 350f wait 15 minutes and turn the oven off and let it cool naturally. #NothingGoesToWaste
