I am exceedingly pleased with myself today. Ever since I started playing Daggerfall Unity on stream, I've bemoaned how no Skooma mod exists (at least not for v0.13.5-beta). As a poor man's substitute, I made potions of Orc's Strength my stand-in, but it was always a poor kludge I was never fully satisfied with.
Today, on an absolute whim, I decided to enlist the aid of an Abominable Intelligence to see how fast I could slop-code a bare-minimum item renamer mod... something that could override the game files and replace "Potion of Orc's Strength" with "Skooma". It took me just over an hour, including the time to pull down Unity, VS Code, and clone an older branch of the Interkarma df-unity source code, to output a mod file that slots into the Mods folder and (apparently) doesn't damage or corrupt existing saves.
From now on, my inventory is bursting with "Potions of Skooma". I'm actually shocked at how quick and easy it was to do, admittedly with the help of infernal internet demons.
