that sounds terrible. where are you now, how are you managing with the leg? do you have a knee scooter?
i am in astana in a hostel that the consulate found that allowed me to have somewhere to sleep. no passport, no place to sleep otherwise. i visited the embassy yesterday and they are in contact with the kazakhstan ministry of foreign affairs to request the passport be transported and delivered to the embassy for me. there is no legal reason why i should not be able to leave the country but right now i have no passport so i cannot.
besides all that, although i have theoretically enough to actually go to georgia, given that i have a passport, i have so little additional funds that i would not be able to pay for accommodation until the contract payment i have coming at the end of the month lands.
it should only be a few days, maybe 4 or 5, and i will have my passport again, but then i have to stay here in this horrendous regime of terrible internet and having to every day hobble around on crutches that have totally pushed my upper body muscles to the limit and without rest i'm at a brick wall on it.
the leg is mostly ok, the bone has fixated enough that i can actually take the splint off when i sleep which makes it a lot easier to sleep. yes i have been sleep deprived for 2 weeks due to the "help" of the doctor in the hospital who literally physically assaulted me, blocking my exit from the hospital. and within a day of being out of there, no longer in that toxic environment, and i started to refuse the intravenous drips and antibiotics, and eventually just gave up on asking for the pain relief, i - yeah, i just was at the end of my tether. and as i was trying to leave, the police took my passport and then expected me to just basically do a magic trick and get a hostel to let me rent a bed without a fucking passport. so i was like, yeah, and tomorrow morning i go to pick it up and that doctor shows up right on cue to continue asserting that i haven't paid a bill that he never actually still has given me, so i went on a mission, half asleep, to get to astana to go to the embassy and get some actual help. and get the fuck away from that lunatic who seriously does not get it that i absolutely can't pay $2400 for his 50th rate cruel, painful treatment, even if i wanted to. even if i wanted to there's no way i can muster that much. and having stolen my passport once, assaulted me, and then made false accusations causing the police to seize my passport again, that motherfucker belongs in a dungeon being tortured by evil gnomes with feathers.
so yeah, i'm still not able to sleep well. all my muscles are aching. the bones are still hurting and i'm stuck. but as soon as i get that passport i can get the fuck out of this shithole. i can't work here on this network, i never know when it's going to decide to start blocking my network connection randomly, and people sitting around watching instagram with their phone speaker on at 3am in the morning and snoring and everyone talking to me amazed that someone from australia is here in this country. yeah, i regret every minute of the time from when i got in that shared taxi from bishkek to almaty. kazakhstan has been a deeply hostile environment from day one. can't get an internet sim without a kazakh number. can't find a place where i can work and actually earn money without an insane amount of obstacles, bad network, noisy people, people asking me stupid questions.
i'm tired boss
