Everyone has their own affinity and preferences. It's one of the reasons why different people gravitate towards different social media networks. Some algorithms reprioritize News links while others promote them. Some favor long-from content. Most favor whatever genre of content the user interacted with most.

Nostr clients should offer a marketplace of algorithms or the choice of no algorithm at all. They all have their advantages depending on what you prefer. The current, no algorithm, everything chronological model means you're going to miss stuff if you're not on here all the time. Some people are ok with that. Some are not.

They could just create a custom feed if they really cared, but no one does that generally speaking. Why would they go through the trouble of customizing their algo? I think it’s one of those things that sounds good on paper but fails in practice.
