Podcasts just decentralize the information flow. Public speeches and conferences like these are still an attack vector no matter how small or well intended. Eventually a for profit event will get co opted by fiat materialism or opposers. It’s the centralization effect: the more power you give someone over you, the less likely they will give it back. And conferences do this with info in the guise of “entertainment”.

But you are right about the social connection aspect! I have much better ideas for that. real connection… not some staged event where a select few people get elected to speak to everyone. It should be based around circular economies, music, art and events… much more fun anyway.
