My biggest complaint about it is the music. It feels like anime in general has bad music... we not bad but… it does not set a mood or set the atmosphere. The remakes of Ruroni Kenshin and Spice & Wolf are good examples of this.

The original Spice & Wolf anime has a much better soundtrack. There is a trend of being more generic when it comes to this stuff that is obvious.
