Why I'm not afraid of AI taking over:
Trying to finish my dad's taxes, but I need his SSA-1099 income form. Haven't received it yet. Tried to sign into the Social Security Admin website, it wanted pics of his license and a selfie (uh...best I can do is a pic of his urn?).
Finally gave up and called, and got stuck in a loop with their automated service. Confirmed his info, told it what I wanted, and then it tried to tell me I should just go do it online, it's faster. NO IT IS NOT. At least another two rounds of trying to get somewhere before it finally put me through to an actual human.
I explained the situation, she confirmed his info again, and then said she would issue a new copy of the form. Probably a two minute conversation start to finish, whereas I spent at least double that with the friggin' answer bot.
