It's been my experience that it's very difficult to motivate people to care about the things you personally care without compensation. Even then, the level of passion / care just doesn't measure up to the person who initiated the project.
Not talking about Nostr only, but pretty much every project I've ever wanted to create but didn't have the technical capacity to do so.
