My mom's clothes dryer recently died. I opened up the back and did some testing with a multimeter to see if I could identify the failure. Traditionally these appliances aren't complex. But I just recalled a dream where I was trying to diagnose a newfangled dryer failure and wound up with an incomprehensible number of parts impossible to reassemble, like I was building it from scratch. Worse, it may have been under warranty which I therefore voided and deeply regretted getting involved. WHY?
