Let’s replace a fiddle bridge!
Here’s the old bridge next to the new blank: not a great example of how to lower the action on a violin.
Next is my solution:
These Barcus-Berry bridges don’t give you much space to work with do to the placement of the Piezo crystal. Her action is going to be a little high for a fiddle player, but we are going to give the instrument time to adjust to out climate before addressing the projection.
A seam popped open as I was stringing this one up, so there is a little more to do before she goes out the door.
