also, i finally found the name of the kree that i read in that comic at age 8. Una. she was only in the story for a brief time, her thing was she resisted the conditioning of the supreme intelligence. she fell in love with a non-kree. she was imprisoned by one of the notable characters, i forget the name, but i have it recorded.

from brave leo (i had to prod it a lot to find it):

> You're thinking of Una, a Kree medic and one of the earliest significant Kree characters in Marvel Comics. She was the first true love of Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) and resisted the Kree Empire's standard conditioning of female Kree, known as the "creche" process. This procedure was designed to suppress a Kree woman’s natural psychic abilities—particularly a powerful, life-draining "seventh sense" that could manifest during emotional or romantic bonds.
>
> Una retained these abilities, which allowed her to deeply influence emotions and form intense psychic connections. Her relationship with Mar-Vell was central to early Captain Marvel storylines, and she became a symbol of resistance against Kree militarism and rigid social control. Tragically, she died during a battle between Mar-Vell and Yon-Rogg, her death later exploited by the Starleech, an alien entity that briefly possessed her body and attacked Carol Danvers out of residual jealousy.
>
> Una’s story reflects themes of love, autonomy, and defiance within a totalitarian regime, making her a quietly revolutionary figure in Kree society.
