This is true, and it did happen, but it is very unusual now. You get it from vitamin E being used as a carrier for mostly nicotine vape juices.
As long as you're buying reputable products, you're not going to run into this problem. And it probably is in many ways healthier, minimizing the amount of chemicals, tar and carbon-based stuff that goes in your lungs.
But it is also a good reminder to realize that anything that's untested or new in which they're putting flavors and then of course any disposable hardware that may be made from all kinds of things that could have a toxic effect.
The only reason I say this is popcorn lung isn't really much of a risk anymore, but that doesn't mean there aren't risks, and through that matter of benefits.
