@nprofile1q... Back when I played quest a lot more, I had four sweat bands to cycle for the daily music rhythm addiction(I could do laundry every 3rd so one was for my hard mode days). Could be they have a few sets and need to air them out. I know turning my bedroom into other realities/adventures got me through a lot of crunch days. Respect for the hobby.

Having said that mine were always in a special part of my laundry to wash, not outside. A bit of an odd place to put it, I guess?
