It's not all BT's fault.
They are entitled, as any commercial company is, to withdraw a product from sale with adequate notice, and they have given LOADS of notice.

The analogy lines being self powered was also a great safety/security option, particularly in a power cut.
Even if you have a UPS on your router and fiber termination how long will the network stay working, even 4G/5G?
My ISP claims the local FTTP optical roadside box thingy has battery backup for ~6 hours. Cell towers? Maybe not much longer? 😟
