It would be fine, if that format really hit it 25 years ago, but it started being widely used relatively recently, to [poorly] fix an issue that doesn't really exist. The supposed speed/space edge is minuscule, but lack of software support for any image you download is much more of an issue. On top of that .webs that aren't static are basically dead once you take them off web, and it's impossible to edit them, unlike more conventional gif files. It's only relevance is due to heavy weight shilling by google, and only actual use case is having poorest nigga internet under the blue sky.
