It does look like his chest is hit first, there is a microphone pin on his right side that goes flying after the impact. I don't think he was shot directly in the neck like most people are saying, that would take a crack-shot pro, which is what a lot of people are trying to say Mossad did it.

It looks like he just tried to hit him in the chest/lung. Had that gone according to plan, ironically Charlie might have lived.
