I assume it's a standard because it works between the various tools I've used. I assume it's a standard for the psbt and then that data is stored in a QR or on an SD.
This not technically totally isolated obviously but it seems as secure a way as I can imagine to to sign transactions. As long as both ends aren't corrupted of course.
