For you, as someone who lives in a free country with equal rights and access to opportunities as a citizen, does it really matter to you that people in Iran are now ...
I know from friends and family in Iran that it is very tough to get by, and it has been for a long time. Iranians are a truly resilient and strong people. ❤️
It is my understanding that the very countries claiming to "liberate" the (courageous) people of Iran bear much of the responsibility for why things have gotten so bad there in the first place.
Without constant imperialist meddling, Iran would be far further along as a free and prosperous country today.
Among other things:
👉 stealing Iranian oil during the Second World War
👉 Operation Ajax and the reinstatement of the Shah
👉 using Iraq as a proxy to attack Iran
👉 using Kuwait as a proxy to attack Iran
👉 assassinating Iranian officials
👉 imposing heavy sanctions that primarily hurt the general population
👉 attempting to trigger colour revolutions through psyops, smear campaigns, and fake news
This is not a defence of the current Iranian leadership, which deserves criticism on several points — but these matters are best dealt with through reforms and domestically.
I wish for Iran to remain a sovereign country rather than become yet another vassal state controlled by the US, Israel, and co. To my fellow countrymen and women: You deserve nothing less than freedom and prosperity.
