I'm getting bored with nostr. Maybe I'm just following the wrong people, but it seems to be an echo chamber about how great the protocol is and platitudes about bitcoin. Interesting content outside o...

Nostr isn't fast food, but a young wine that's maturing and developing a more rich and complex taste by the day. I have had more meaningful interactions on this platform in this short time, than any other platform. Its a huge bonus that I'm not being spied on/censored.

Brian Gray presents Rudolf Steiner's Six Basic Exercises. They are a foundational set of practices designed to develop self-awareness, strengthen the integration of thinking, feeling, and willing, and prepare the soul for deeper spiritual development.

Originally presented as "Nebenübungen" (additional exercises), they are recommended to accompany meditation and esoteric training.

1. Control of Thought

Focus on a simple object (e.g., a pencil or paper clip) for five minutes daily, observing it with all senses and asking questions about its origin, use, and material. The goal is to eliminate mental wandering and cultivate logical, focused thinking.

2. Control of Will

Perform a simple, purposeless action at a fixed time each day (e.g., pulling your earlobe, untying and retying shoelaces). The act must be chosen freely and repeated consistently to strengthen conscious willpower and self-initiation.

3. Equanimity (Exercise of Feeling)

Practice emotional balance by observing feelings without judgment, weakening excessive reactions, and strengthening underdeveloped emotions. The aim is to achieve calm and stability in the face of joy, sorrow, or external events.

4. Positivity

Consciously seek the positive aspects in every situation, even difficult ones. Combine thinking and feeling to reframe challenges and foster optimism and constructive outlook.

5. Open-Mindedness

Cultivate receptivity to new experiences and ideas, avoiding closure based on past assumptions. This exercise integrates feeling and willing to remain open to the present moment and evolving insights.

6. Inner Harmony

Integrate all previous exercises to create a unified soul life where thinking, feeling, and willing work in balance. This final stage fosters coherence, clarity, and a harmonious inner state.

These exercises are typically practiced consecutively for four weeks, one per week, to build lasting habits. They are not merely intellectual tasks but transformative practices aimed at developing inner strength, objectivity, and spiritual readiness. As Steiner emphasized, they are essential for avoiding illusions during advanced spiritual work and for nurturing a true, balanced inner life.

MeshCore itself is very new, so we're all noobs. It's a mesh network using lora radio, which is very slow but has pretty good range. The basic use case is an encrypted off grid chat (dm and channels). It's not using internet or any other infrastructure. People build repeaters, often with solar pane...
