I've been using magnetic usbc adapters. Reduced cable stress because the magnets just come undone and fewer physical insertions. It also acts as a plug that keeps the pocket lint out.
I've looked into that too but the last one I tried sucked ass. Any recommendations for brands or products? That's pretty much the only actual solution I can come up with. Framework had the right idea with the expansion cards but they're the only ones I know of doing anything like that
