The pain in my life is nothing to what you are going through my friend.
My advice would be to see the spine surgeon. Not seeing them isn't going to improve the situation and actually knowing what the issue is allows you to plan the route forward, even if the news is bad.
Not knowing is more debilitating than being told you have to take a different direction. Do what will make your future a brighter one. You're an amazing person and you will handle whatever is thrown at you.
