So @CARLA⚡️ and I are both devouring the Mistborn saga by Brandon Sanderson (thank you @Lyn Alden for the rec)…

I started reading first and just started “The Hero of Ages” and she’s on “The Well of Ascension.”

But the problem is I don’t want to finish… know what I mean? Once you’re invested in a truly great piece of fiction, invested in the characters, you don’t want it to end.

But it must end. Anything that cannot go on forever must stop. All good things must come to an end. Etc etc

Anyway, I guess what I’m really saying is I wish there was a Mistborn video game…

Mistborn is great! When you finish you can start the stormlight archive!

The good news? There are boatload of other books within Sanderson’s Cosmere. The better news? There’s an additional saga that takes place on Scadrial - The Alloy of Law is boom 1. The best news? You haven’t even started the Stormlight Archive series. I envy you two. Going through Sanderson...

Ah thanks for the recommendation! I've been looking for a new thing-like-this. And yes, I know exactly what you mean. I felt that way about Hyperion. Devastated when it ended, but the ending was also perfect.

Read it again in a few years! The great thing about Terry Pratchett, for example, is there's enough books that are high qualify that you can read them 2-3 times 🫶🏼

The running the streets pushing coins and flying around would be fun in a video game for sure!

Good series!

Have you read Joe Abercrombie’s The First Law series? So good. I highly recommend the audio books too. Steven Pacey’s reading and acting are brilliant. https://joeabercrombie.com/books/

Good to see actual books being read. I just joined a book club to get back to it. Bravo 🙌

I know just what you mean. I really enjoy all his books, and the man is a machine. Unlike, Patrick Rothfuss who’s still working on the third book of the Kingkiller Chronicle 10 years later. Book production rate aside, when you come up for air from Sanderson, give the Name of the Wind (book 1) a tr...

Just wait until you start the Stormlight Archive...

There’s a second set of four Mistborn books set later, but they follow different characters, since the core trilogy stands on its own. There are strong references to the core trilogy in them though. I don’t like those books as much as the core trilogy, but they’re okay. They’re purposely mo...

Also started to read the Mistborn books thanks to nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a recommendation! It’s taking some hours off my sleep by it’s too enticing!

Don’t understand the appeal. The books are tightly structured is the best I can say about them.
Kirk · 64w
I did much the same and finished the trilogy in September. The characters are so great!...and actually admirable.

Have any of you read Red Rising? I’m on book 5 out of 7 and its amazing. Will check out Mistborn when im finished.

My girlfriend is reallllyyyy into these so seeing more Bitcoiners hyped about them is a funny crossover for me.

Gotta agree with Lyn, the core Mistborn trilogy is amazing. The second set of 4 books (the Wax stories) are a good read, but nothing worth calling your mom about. Currently plowing through the Stormlight Archive book 2, and so far I am very impressed.. I just hope Sanderson can keep up this level ...

loved Stormlight too for the first 3 books then never finished the 4th. may return to it someday. worth it either way.

Never read Sanderson, but just bought the first mistborn book. I’m super pumped! What would you compare it to?
btconboard #LNHANCE or #CTV · 64w
Don’t worry there’s another 4 Mistborn books on Wax and Wayne, and then roughly another 8k pages of books in his various series set in the same universe, e.g. the Cosmerr.
Gale Rush · 64w
I cried when it ended.

If you’re into SciFi (or willing to try) the Culture series of books by Iain M. Banks is 🔥 also

Stormlight Archives is something else for me… “Life before death, Strength before weakness, Journey before destination” I also can’t recommend strongly enough listening the audiobook. Micheal Kramer is simply astonishing.

I’m 80% done the Lord of the Rings. Watched the movies but never read the book. I don’t want to finish and am tempted to just start over again before finish the book. How does Mistborn compare to LOTR?
