The second someone makes programming easier, the next second people expect you to build more complex things. It's an infinite treadmill of cascading difficulty.
My old pimp got paid to manage a single list. That was his job before he started pimping. Probably in cobol. Probably badly done, because it was proprietary and no one had access to it. This was what was acceptable.
Our generation did things that were more complex than a single list. A lot of it in java. We thought it was complex, and there were hard limits on what we could do (mostly eclipse ram use, and lack of ram)
The next generation is going to look back at the more complex software from this era as quaint, compared to the vibe-coded horrorshows they'll have to handle. The complexity will grow, and human brains will push themselves to the limit to understand it. Same as it ever was.
