People are dunking on this politician. And it is silly. But we're entering a future where 30-40 percent of people are perma-single. And their companions are their pets. It's the same reason people aren't having children. Because they are not in couples. Why are they not in couples? Because romantic love is the minimum threshold now. Not tradition, not financial need, not societal stigma. Romantic love. And romantic love is rare. Which is why you see so many pets in cities now. And it will continue to grow.
