Nice, I inadvertently found out a few years ago that Tawny’s are excellent parents, when I tried to rescue a fledgling that hadn’t quite made it. Apparently, the parents will keep feeding and watching over the fledgling until it either works out how to fly back up to the nest or it gets taken by a predator. Even after the chick disappears the parents will continue to check back at the last known location for a few days. We removed the chick for approx 24hrs (until we learned about the dedication of the parents) and were able to reunite chick and parent the next day.
