We could have advanced coding tools without ruining the world.
We could have advanced gene folding systems without propping the economy on a circular financing bubble.
We could have advanced personal agents.
But the 'inevitable' hyperscalar fantasy playing out now, telling you youjust have to step aside and let it happen, ruining the world, the environment, consumer-level technology availability, and, quite frankly, some peoples' minds and livelihoods is not necessary. Not  "inevitable".

It's a choice. We're just being told that it is in order that we might have those other things which do have value, in return for giving billionaires and would-be world-runners free reign to pillage our society and our economy and our natural resources. It's a choice we're being asked to stay out of.

"AI" as presented to the world right now has always been a lie, from the name to the promises of sentience and creating a better world, not a worse one, the hyperscalar industry is a lie.
