Using Claude Opus is like leverage trading. You'll end up poor quickly. With Opus you had at least a lot of fun 😹
You'd be surprised how much you can get done on a Pro Max 5x. But a compiler, or a fully playable 3D game with continuous loading maps like GTA has used since GTA3... lol. That's a lot of engineering.
Probably Unreal or Unity engine have a lot of basic elements that would speed up that first part to something interactive, something that starts to have the possibility of creating interactions within a full 20x Pro Max $200/month without extra usage. But likely you would burn it all in under two weeks, or maybe even a week.
I'd probably estimate that out of my usage over the last four months, just on the ORLY relay, I've spent about $200 working on it and probably about 240 hours of my time. What I've added to that thing, though, is pretty damn good:
- Rearchitected the whole thing
- Built out a pretty decent administration UI
- Added new database drivers
- Created a gRPC IPC to enable other people to build their own interoperating components
A lot. But far from what is involved in making a game. I have considered doing this, just for a simple 2d tower defense simulation based game like Kingdom games, and just the graphics alone even pixel style, is weeks of work, and generators could shorten that substantially, but still...
