Good morning everyone!
I took a bit of time off of nostr and came back to find a new trend of people talking about how not a lot of people are using nostr.
A year ago, there weren’t many people usi...
I find just over the past month or so, with the rapid client development between #amethyst, #wisp, #ditto, and #nostria, that has increased my enthusiasm for this platform.
And I'd strongly push back on the idea that this will never "catch on" and have a billion users -- if anything we have the technical stack that no other protocol has to achieve meaningful decentralization at meaningful scale.
But we have to realign our model a bit. The contest right now is (X AND BlueSky) vs (Mastodon AND Nostr). Or really just the first 2 vs Mastodon, which is the only decentralized social protocol to achieve meaningful decentralization at meaningful scale.
The masses have to see that centralized platforms WILL fail them, because that will happen on a long enough timescale. But it's part of a broader, and quite frankly political libertarian project of teaching people not to look for solutions in concentrated centers of power.
