The obvious movie to compare with is the 2024 roaring success "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In".

TotW:WI has the advantage that it's based on novels and comic books and has a much better written story and dialogue, but when it comes to the fighting, it's less integrated into the story. It's like pressing a pause button on the plot and here's where we do the fighting. This is especially apparent at the end of the movie where it's like, ok, we've done enough story, let's just have another half hour of fighting and then we can wrap it up.

The fighting in TotW:WI was spectacular, but TF has the edge in moving the plot forward. I hope the next huge HK movie brings all of this together and combines the movie qualities of TotW:WI with the choreography and narrative integration of TF.

Louis Koo knows how to do this. Everything his money touches becomes a blockbuster in HK. I hope he sees a way to pick this up.
