maybe so, but the alternative is "trust me bro"
nostr is a PKI. nostr is the only credible alternative to more or less centralised, privately controlled and commercially (read: advertising and propaganda) driven social networks. it also happens to be a handy mechanism that allows us to do stuff like nip-60 cashu wallets that are cross-device accessible, and secure rendezvous like NWC and nip-46 bunkers. (and my NRC protocol, for bridging relays inside LANs behind NAT, or potentially any event storage such as clients).
