No worries! No, I'm referring to what's called a cowitness iron sight to go with your dot sight, on the gun itself. (You might already have this)

They sit a bit higher than the iron sights that come with the gun so that you can see them in the window of your dot sight easier.

They are usually used as backups for if your dot sight stops working (dies, breaks, etc.). But the front sight post can be a big help for lining up the gun properly to pick up your dot (for some reason lol). It works as a sort of landmark for your brain I guess.

They don't get in the way of your dot sight window either. They usually sit well in the bottom quarter of the window, out of the way.
