I don't want to see anyone working 12-hour days and I'm not a fan of Milei for all sorts of reasons, but I can't tell: did he mandate long working days? or did he just lift a government regulation regarding work hours?

It's not a mandate, but the criticism is that any law that allows abuse of workers will be used. Expecting a company to do the right thing is a very naive person's game.
