They clearly have a long standing relationship. This is the kind of thing I would say to a friend. It’s abundantly clear he’s not actually threatening to kill him.
I agree. Also, I had literally told clients that they are fucking themselves by talking too much more than once and in those words so it’s very common for lawyers to get cranky with clients digging themselves a hole.
