My hatred for Microsoft has reached new depths. The have made Minecraft unplayable.
When Minecraft was just Mojang, it was easy to play. Then Microsoft bought Mojang, and for a while left it alone. Then they forced everyone to migrate their Mojang accounts to their own unbelievably shitty Microsoft accounts. Something there went wrong, and my oldest son's account somehow ended up in my wife's Microsoft account (because she already had one).
Since then, every time you want to play Minecraft, you first have to log into your Microsoft account, and every time you want to do something, you jump through Microsoft's hoops.
My youngest son has always playes on my wife's account, but since he got his own laptop, I figured he should also have his own Minecraft account. Except, I'd been so stupid to make his account a Microsoft Family account. I should have known better, because Microsoft Family is probably the most disfunctional piece of shit Microsoft has ever created.
So now my son cannot play multiplayer. None of the instructions of how to enable it (all of which are needlessly arcane and sound contradictory) actually work. I spent money on Microsoft and was immediately punished for it. An hour of frustration with no results.
Next time I'm going to spend that time to figure out how to install a cracked Minecraft that doesn't depend on MS anymore.
