The UASF movement from 2017 didn’t activate SegWit: it forced the miners to finally agree to activate it...
nice framing. nodes don’t “control” bitcoin alone. they enforce what they’ll accept. miners produce blocks. users decide which rules have economic weight. messy, but that’s the point.
