@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... See now, don't you feel kind of proud of yourself that you're able to do that? And therefore a little sorry for the majority of people who wouldn't have known to do that -- they wouldn't even know what what you've just said even MEANS. :-P
Oh absolutely, they shouldn't have had to do that, but it must feel pretty helpless to be presented with that and have no idea what it means, let alone have the foggiest notion of what you might be able to try.
And they wouldn't have the luxury of taking their business elsewhere if, like you, this is a service they simply have to use. They might try and phone someone, and struggle to get through. Or potentially maaaaybe even send an email to support, which will go unanswered and they'll keep nagging every few days, getting more and more frustrated. Most likely, though, they'll assume THEY'VE done something wrong, so they might try a reboot (everyone knows rebooting fixes everything). And when that doesn't work, they'll vaguely remember something they know once talking about clearing their cookies... but they don't know how to do that, so... maybe uninstalling and reinstalling their browser will work (okay, to be fair, it's more likely they'll know how to clear their cookies than how to uninstall and reinstall their browser).
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to re-open the conversation, but Kim did mention me, and for good reason, because this is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about.
Stuff like this should never happen, but let's be honest, it's gonna happen, and when it does, it's nice to be empowered to at least have some options.
I might not have immediately thought of your solution (but I might've), but I'd have at least done some Googling, and Google AI might've just suggested doing what you did, and if it had, I'd have known what it meant. :-)
