easy solution to that - send that bottom 50% of households back to Africa and Mexico

The "someone owns more than x% of the population combined" is a correct but misleading/useless metric. Around 20% of US population have 0 or negative net worth. Anyone who is debt-free with a few dollars in the bank has more wealth than that 20% combined (0+0+0=0).
