#WritersCoffeeClub 5Sep—Do you track your word count? How? Why?
I do. I use Excel to track words written, blogged, read (my own work), and edited. I track every day, and include a color coding system for how I'm feeling as well as a column for activity (drafting, editing, etc.).
Writing is my full-time job, so I track these things to hold myself accountable. It helps me find rhythms, and project when my WIP(s) will be complete.
It is, perhaps, the only type A thing about my writing career.
